Business Cost Reduction (BCR) Associates Franchise Review
A new franchise has launched within the business utility sector from cost reduction company BCR Associates. We know know franchising can be fraught with danger so exactly what does this one offer ?
Understanding where a business spends their money and having the expertise to suggest efficient alternatives is a business person’s dream so when we heard of a company called Business Cost Reduction Associates (BCR) and that not only could they offer such a dream but are also selling a franchise version we were curious to find out more.
So what to BCR actually do ?
If you are a smaller company it’s unlikely you will have all the right expertise in house to manage all your suppliers for utilities. Larger companies have dedicated expert managing their IT, telecoms, energy contracts etc so will know the industry inside out and know how to get the best contracts, but smaller businesses won’t.
So this is where BCR step in. Their main track seems to be looking at utility costs for not only the best contracts but also to reduce consumption and usage through a programme of efficiency savings. They also have an overhead cost reduction programme which if your business simply must cut their costs “no matter what” could also be of interest.
BCR then make their money from what you have saved (or they have saved you) so like certain current business grants where someone takes the upfront costs and then you pay back once and only once you are seeing any savings then you’ll know how this all works.
On the face of this it all sounds too good to be true, but these guys started in 2004 and seem to know what they are doing.
The BCR Franchise Opportunity
We at businesselectricityprices are always very aware of franchises because many businesses will just take the franchise fees, not support the franchisee and then let them cut their own necks. The franchise industry is self regulating and because they are business to business transactions there are limited laws that protect franchisees.
However, a well thought out and well support franchiser is someone to hold onto. These guys appear to have developed their programme properly and not only employed a bunch of franchise experts but also piloted new franchises in a couple of areas around the UK to make sure it all works and iron out any problems.
No costs are currently available as to what you may invest but it’s likely to be high because your training is a five day residential course and you get a dedicated business coach as well (massive but essential costs here).
Although we do not recommend any franchise programmes this may be one to be interested in but also if you have a business and just want someone to investigate all your utility costs (and water/ business rates) and see what savings could be made then it may be worth having a chat to them and see what they could do. After all, if you do not make any savings with your business then you own business cost reduction associates nothing.
Please however check any contracts you may have to sign very carefully and make your own judgements.
